Busy Saturday

So I was asked a very interesting question today. But first, a little background. I have been training for a bike race that is coming up this Saturday called the Holland Hundred Bike Tour. Yesterday, I went on a 40 mile bike ride from Tunnel Park in Holland all the way up to Grand Haven State Park and then downtown Grand Haven and back again. I made great time, only 3 hours and 45 minutes to complete the 40 miles.

Saturday, I will participate in the 67 mile route of the Holland Hundred. (Maybe next year I will do the full 100 miles.)

Question : "What are you going to do after you reach this goal?"

Answer: "Work on the other fitness goals on my goal wall. As I complete those, make new goals, work on those and complete them."

It's all about the goals and moving forward. Doing things that we normally wouldn't do or try. Reaching new heights and building self confidence. Isn't that what it's really about?

So what are some of my goals for the rest of the summer? Train and participate in two, yes two, 5k races in September. Mom is coming over for one of them and we are going to walk it together. Any other takers? It's only 3.1 mile walk. It would be fun to get some more family members involved.

So, when I confidently report on Sunday afternoon (I will probably be too tired on Saturday to blog) that I reached another goal, I hope you don't take it that I am bragging. Understand that I am proud to have planned, trained and completed a milestone goal.

Make it a good day!
Rachael
